Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how paiti Services ("paiti", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects personal data when customers, service providers, drivers, accommodation partners, and other users use the paiti customer app, paiti Provider app, website, support channels, and related services (together, the "Platform"). It applies wherever the Platform is offered.

1. Who We Are

paiti operates a technology marketplace that helps customers discover, request, book, and communicate with independent service providers. For privacy questions, rights requests, or complaints, contact us using the details in Section 17.

2. Data We Collect

The data we collect depends on how you use the Platform.

  • Account and identity data: name, phone number, email address, profile photograph, login method, user ID, date of birth, and authentication information.
  • Customer and booking data: saved addresses, city, PIN code, service location, pickup and drop location, booking date and time, service requirements, instructions, booking history, invoices, coupons, cancellations, refunds, ratings, reviews, and support communications.
  • Provider and business data: business or trade name, service category, skills, experience, service areas, availability, photographs, offers, licenses, certificates, verification details, and provider subscription or platform-fee records. We do not collect provider bank details for service payouts and we do not maintain provider earnings records.
  • Verification data: government-issued identity information and document images, which may include Aadhaar and PAN details, and verification status. We do not publicly display government identification numbers or document images.
  • Platform payment data: transaction ID, payment status, amount, payment method type, invoice, and refund details for platform fees, booking fees, or provider subscriptions paid to paiti. Payment credentials entered in the payment interface are processed by the payment provider and are not stored by paiti in full. Customers pay the provider directly for the actual service, labour, fare, materials, or other agreed charges. paiti does not process that direct service payment and normally does not know or store the final amount agreed between the customer and provider.
  • Location data: approximate or precise location while the app is in use, when you grant permission, and locations you enter manually. We use this for serviceability, nearby services, address assistance, routing, pickup/drop selection, fraud prevention, and booking fulfilment.
  • Photos, camera, and files: profile images, service images, identity documents, property or vehicle images, complaint evidence, and images you choose to upload. Camera access may also be used to scan booking, coupon, or verification QR codes.
  • Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, language, IP address, crash and diagnostic information, interaction logs, notification token, and security or fraud signals.
  • Communications: messages and information provided through email, phone, WhatsApp, forms, reviews, complaints, or customer support.

3. How We Collect Data

  • Directly from you when you register, create a profile, upload documents, book or provide a service, make a payment, submit a review, or contact support.
  • Automatically from your device and use of the Platform, subject to device settings and permissions.
  • From the other party to a booking, for example when a provider updates booking status or a customer submits a rating.
  • From authentication, payment, mapping, communication, analytics, security, and cloud-service providers.
  • From public authorities or lawful sources where needed for verification, safety, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

4. Why We Use Data

  • Create and secure accounts, authenticate users, and maintain profiles.
  • Verify providers, assess applications, and help protect customers and the Platform.
  • Display relevant provider profiles, services, prices, availability, ratings, and service areas.
  • Create, manage, fulfil, cancel, and support bookings and requests.
  • Process platform fees, booking fees, provider subscriptions, invoices, and eligible refunds relating to amounts paid to paiti.
  • Enable calls, booking communications, alerts, service updates, and support.
  • Provide location-based features and improve service availability.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, unsafe conduct, policy violations, and technical issues.
  • Improve, troubleshoot, analyse, and develop the Platform.
  • Send promotional communications where permitted; you may opt out at any time.
  • Comply with law, enforce our Terms, resolve disputes, and protect users, paiti, and the public.

5. Permissions and Your Choices

The apps may request location, camera, photos/media, notifications, and phone-call permissions. You can deny or later revoke optional permissions in device settings. Some features may not work without the permission needed for that feature. paiti does not access call logs, contacts, SMS content, microphone recordings, or background location unless a future feature clearly requests permission and this Policy is updated before collection.

6. When We Share Data

  • Between customers and providers: we share only information reasonably needed to evaluate, accept, communicate about, and fulfil a booking, such as name, contact details, service address, request details, booking status, and relevant profile or rating information.
  • Service processors: cloud hosting and storage, authentication, push notifications, payment processing for fees paid to paiti, mapping/location, communications, analytics, crash reporting, document verification, and customer support providers process data for us.
  • Professional advisers and business transfers: auditors, insurers, lawyers, advisers, investors, or a successor in a merger, financing, restructuring, or sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.
  • Legal and safety disclosures: courts, regulators, law enforcement, emergency services, or affected persons when disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, property, prevent fraud, or enforce agreements.
  • With your direction or consent: when you request or clearly authorize a disclosure.

We do not sell personal data or government identification data. We do not share personal or sensitive data for cross-context behavioural advertising.

7. Third-Party Services

The Platform uses third-party services, including Google Firebase services and Razorpay, and may use mapping, geocoding, sign-in, analytics, messaging, and communication services. Those providers may process data under their own privacy terms. Links or communications that take you to an independent provider's website, app, phone, or WhatsApp account are governed by that provider's practices.

8. Legal Grounds and Consent

We process personal data with your consent, to provide services you request, to comply with law, and for legitimate uses permitted by applicable law, such as platform security, fraud prevention, record keeping, and dispute resolution. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent, but withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing and may prevent us from providing features that require the data.

9. Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described here. Account and active service data is generally retained while your account is active. After deletion, we delete or de-identify data within a reasonable period, generally within 30 days, unless a longer period is required for tax, accounting, payment, fraud prevention, safety, dispute, backup, or legal obligations. Transaction, invoice, booking, complaint, and compliance records may be retained for the period required by applicable law. Backup copies are removed through normal backup cycles.

10. Account and Data Deletion

In either app: go to Account/Profile > Alert Zone > Delete Account to initiate a deletion request, then send the pre-filled request from your registered email address. We may contact you to verify the request before processing it.

Web request for any user: email support@paiti.in with the subject "Account Deletion Request" and include the phone number or email registered to the account and whether the account is a customer or provider account. We may verify identity before deletion to prevent unauthorized requests.

Deleting an account closes access and deletes or de-identifies associated profile data, uploaded content, and other personal data, except information we must retain for the limited reasons stated in Section 9. Deleting the app from a device does not delete the account.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to a summary of your personal data and processing, correction or completion of inaccurate data, deletion, withdrawal of consent, grievance redressal, and nomination of another person to exercise rights in the event of death or incapacity. You may also opt out of promotional messages. We may ask for reasonable identity verification and may decline or limit a request where law permits.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal data, including access controls, authentication, secure transmission, restricted access to verification documents, monitoring, and service-provider controls. No system is completely secure. Keep your OTP, password, and device secure and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.

13. International Processing

Our service providers may process or store data in India or other countries. Where data is transferred, we use contractual and other safeguards required by applicable law and comply with any government restrictions on cross-border transfers.

14. Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for persons aged 18 or older. Providers must be at least 18. We do not knowingly create accounts for children or knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.

15. Public Content and Reviews

Provider profiles, business details, service listings, prices, availability, ratings, and reviews may be visible to Platform users. Do not post government ID numbers, financial credentials, another person's personal data, or other sensitive information in a public profile, listing, image, or review.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the Platform, law, or our practices. We will post the revised Policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice where required. Material changes apply prospectively unless law permits otherwise.
